State Representative and Attorney Speak on Pennsylvania’s Medical Cannabis Act

StateRepsBIPP welcomed Pennsylvania State Representative Kerry Benninghoff and
Attorney William Roark, Bucknell alumni Class of ’03, onto campus to speak on the future of the legalization of medical marijuana in Pennsylvania. BIPP hosted the event ‘Seeing Green: Is Pennsylvania Next to Regulate Medical Marijuana?’  in the LC Forum on November 5., which included a panel presentation followed by an open Q&A session for all who attended. Representative Benninghoff has led the “Medical Cannabis Work Group,’ to start formation  and drafting of recommendations for a new bill to present to the House on legalizing medical marijuana. More recently, the recommendations were sent to House Majority Leader David Reed, a strong supporter of the cause. If a bill is passed, conditions such as HIV, cancer, and PTSD are eligible to be treated by medical marijuana.
