Join us for Pizza & Policy with guest speaker Shannon Monnat from Penn State University. With the U.S.’s unprecedented opiate epidemic an important theme of the 2016 presidential campaign, Shannon will discuss her recent analyses showing that Donald Trump performed best in counties with the highest drug, alcohol, and suicide mortality rates. Her discussion will focus on how these patterns are tied to long-term economic and social decline and potential implications of various proposed policy responses.
