Social Science Colloquium: Public Intellectual Practice in A Volatile Political Climate

Members of the Social Sciences faculty at Bucknell would like to invite you to attend a colloquium on the subject of Public Intellectual Practice in A Volatile Political Climate.

This colloquium is the third in a series of discussions on the issues in the Social Sciences that were started last year. It is intended to afford members of the campus community with the opportunity to see how social scientists address emerging and established social and political issues brought on by structural economic and political changes. Public intellectuals refer to individuals whose work and engagement are not confined to academic audiences, but have broader appeal to the wider society. The charge of this colloquium is to explicate the nature of this public engagement. Please come join in the discussion about this subject and its impact on society.

Panelists: Professor Coralynn Davis (Office of Civic Engagement & Women’s and Gender Studies),  Professor Nina Banks (Economics), Professor Vanessa Massaro (Geography) and Professor Jaye Austin Williams (Africana Studies).

We encourage you to attend this event on Thursday, March 29, 11:00am – 12pm in the Academic West Event Lounge on the 1st floor.

Pizza, salad and beverages will be provided for all who attend.
